Recall Watch: Um, These Cars Could Catch on Fire
So if you are like most Kanata/Stittsville car owners you have gotten recall notices in the mail and ignored them. Instead of getting your car checked out by the dealer or a Kanata/Stittsville garage you ignore it… what’s the worst that could happen?
Well we are here today to tell you that the worst that could happen is that your Stittsville/Kanata car is it could catch on fire!
This General Motors (GM) recall impacts a million cars on the road including older Pontiacs, Chevrolets, Oldsmobiles, and Buicks. More specifically, models included in the recall are:
- 1997-2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
- 2000-2004 Chevrolet Impala
- 1998-1999 Chevrolet Lumina
- 1998-2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
- 1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
- 1997-2004 Buick Regal
These used Kanata/Stittsville cars are catching on fire from engine oil dripping on a manifold. The problem is bad enough that GM suggests if you own one of the models, you don’t want to park it in a garage. So your car can catch on fire with you in it, but don’t let it burn your house and family down as well?
In no way is your car being a potential fire hazard acceptable. If your car falls into this category, contact your GM dealer and keep on top of this recall. If you are getting the runaround, please bring your car into a trusted Kanata/Stittsville garage like G&I.
